PLAYS by Jeremy Levin

WAITING FOR PRODUCTION:

"Worthless"
A play in one act about a young man exploring the nature and process of who he is as an individual through a variety of relationships. Trapped in a prison cell with a female companion, he is promised release for simply admitting he is worthless.

STAGED:

"A Look Back in Virginia Woolf"
A deluded older Jewish Couple and an “angry young man” collide in a post-Purim drunken stupor. Well, not really a stupor. More like a knock-down, drag-out fight stemming from betrayal and the deliberately malicious breach of boundaries all meant to inflame and manipulate each others' insecurities. With schnapps.

READ/WORKSHOPPED:

"Emily and Daniel"
A play in one act about beginning the exploration of an adult relationship. Wanting nothing more than each other, Emily and Daniel, in a slight role reversal, keep tripping over their own insecurities and previous experiences. They learn they must check their bags at the curb in order to allow themselves to have the relationship they want and need.

"Knish"
A Ten-minute play modeled after Ionesco's Rhinoceros, Knish comedically explores the age old question of “What happens when people turn into knishes?”

"Last Call"
A ten minute play with a comedic look into the possibility of meeting people in a bar. Either going in for yourself or just accompanying a friend, sometime all you need to do is simply sit down and the bar will come to you.
